“Patios de Bodega´´ has place in May. The main objective of this activity is the creation of touristic experiences related to wine and the facilities related to enotourism: wine cellars and winepresses.Taking part at the guided tours around the patios embellished with natural elements and typical objects, during these days visitors can learn about everything related to wine and taste the most representatives wines the P.D.O. Montilla-Moriles.

Date: April-May. From 11st April to 3rd May 2020.

Ecoracimo is an International Organic Wines Contest which pretends giving value to the quality and the reputation of organic products, support and activate the production of organic wines, favouring the development of this area and supporting the appreciation and promotion by the consumer. The contest includes several activities:

• Wine tasting: Contest (close doors) in which a jury composed by professional and experienced tasters, tastes all the competing wines and rank them.
• Parallel activities for the general public take place in the castle (theatre and wine pairing, guided tastings, recording of radio shows,…)
• After.-contest activities: Along the year there are several activities as guided tastings, using the participant wines.

The Harvest Festival (‘Fiesta de la Vendimia’) has been declared as Festival of Regional Interest. Is is one of the oldest festivals in Spain and it is celebrated as commemoration of the grape harvest at the prestigious Montilla- Moriles Designation of Origin. This festival combine institutional and festive events. Each year the organization names a foreman who gets the keys and the responsibility of guarding and defending the wines of the area.

The pressing of the grape, to extract the first grape must of the year, takes place at ‘El Gran Capitán’ quarter and it is offered to the ‘Virgen de las Viñas’. At the same time, it takes place the opening speech of the festival, the ‘Cata Flamenca’ (one of the most prestigious festivals in Spain), the ‘Fiesta del Vino y de la Tapa’ (Wine and Tapa Festival), ‘Destreza en el Oficio Contest’, equestrian exhibitions and numerous musical performances.

Date: From 6th to 9th September 2019.

Place: Merced Square.  Gran Capitán Neighborhood.

Montilla recieve a variety of Jazz groups of different styles and origins in different corners of the city, combined with the star product of the city, wine. The main objective of this festival is to promote jazz music and at the same time, bring people to the winepresses and cellars od Montilla, where visitors can enjoy our wines and visit the facilities.

The Enotourism European Day is intensely lived in Montilla, a land with a very close relationship with wine. This celebration, promoted by RECEVIN (European Wine cities), counts with the participation of entreprises related to this area which organize a wide range of activities related to enotourism with a single aim: The approach to wine and its culture.
