The Fair of El Santo is an expected date every year for all montillanos, since the death of the Montillano patron is commemorated on July 14, so the city lives with joy, fun and the best atmosphere these days of celebration. After the proclamation, which takes place in the symbolic Paseo de las Mercedes, the main streets of Montilla are crossed by the already traditional “Gigantes y Cabezudos”, until reaching the fairgrounds where the opening and lighting of the cover awaits, which reminds us The longed arches of the Puerta de Aguilar.

The best music, company, stage, and of course, the best wine of the Protected Designation of Origin Montilla-Moriles, are incentives that invite you to share these holidays.

The fun is guaranteed both day and night, because the booths come alive from noon until well after dawn. It is the meeting point of a good number of Montillanos and visitors who spend a few days in contact with the culture and tradition of Montilla.

As a religious element of the patron saint’s festivities, on Sunday of the fair there is a procession of the “Santico” from the hermitage bearing the same name, strolling through the streets where, in his day, San Francisco Solano walked and performed his miracles.
